That is a great point. With the internet, we tend to have an overload of information; particularly when trying to learn new things. When trying to learn how to program, it can be really tough to figure out where and how to start.
My hope in this article was to resolve a little of that anxiety by saying that no matter where you start you won’t be wasting your time. No matter what language you learn, you will be learning valuable skills that will be transferrable.
Now, you are also right in that it can be difficult to learn that first programming language. It often leads to discouragement and even quitting. I am working on another article right now giving some advice on how to keep your motivation high when learning a language for the first time.
